I think I have to skip a bit of events, because now I cannot follow the blog often, perhaps because I am too verbose. In any case, if I remember correctly (I write from the train and I cannot control XD) I stopped telling about my life after the second day at the center called "centrumvillan”. We can say that the week after it was routine, perhaps Thursday excluded, when I trained with Fredrik's team. It took one hour for me to get to the center, even though there are trails for about half an hour , but I went there alone, on foot and without asking for information, and in any case I am proud of myself XD. The following Saturday I accompanied Elizabeth at the airport because a new volunteer was arriving: D, Mirela from Montenegro. The trip was quite strange as well as quick, I say strange because we had to be there quite late in the evening, around midnight, more or less . In addition, the road was very dark and the dark forest could've been confused for a very dark sky, a slight fog completed the atmosphere. When Mirela came, she was dressed in a heavier way than me, probably expecting very cold temperatures , but at that time did not go below -2, and for the type of coldness that we have here is not hard at all. When we went back home I prepared some spaghetti with tomatoes and tuna and we went to sleep. The following weekend was dedicated to the youth centers visits troughout the city, as mentioned on other occasions, very large numbers for my standards. The centers are quite similar in general and there is always a pool table and a ping pong. What I personally have noticed is that the "clients" of these centers change much from one another, for example in many of these centers the children are more shy than the "centrumvillan", nevertheless we have visited in the days and times withfew people. One of these centers has inspired me for a personal project that I would really like to make:
The center has the look of an ancient manor (the typical building with many rooms and many windows, quite similar in structure and appearance to the American barns.) And people who work there told us of their problems with the bureaucratic / economic / political system of the municipality. For some reason, with the succession of the various municipalities, they have no possibility to renew the equipment of the center and they're not able to organize many activities for the youngsters. There were also problems to moe/not to move, because the municipality didn't take a decision on this point. If everything remained as it is (especially the place) I'd like to organize in the same manor a "horror path", a term coined by myself because I do not have a better attraction to which I can refer. I'll provide a brief description of what I have in mind to give you a picture: I was in some luna park, themed on cinema, and among the many attractions there was an entire building with a shop dedicated to horror. The access of the attraction was through a door after a short path which led to a lift. The attraction should be done in groups, usually 5 / 6 people and was structured through a path to follow. Each room isthemed of course, there were this actor / actress and obviously something happened: for example, there could be a girl dressed as Linda Blair in the Exorcist movie, on top of a bed similar to the one of the movie and the group went around the bed while she got up and chased the unfortunate people. In another room there was a man condemned to death, apparently chained to an electric chair, but that after the "frying" he broke free and tried to catch the group through some iron bars. That path ended up in front of a pissed off leatherface with a chainsaw that sprut so much smoke, the group had to flee through a door to get to the attraction shop, obviously related to the attraction itself and horror movies in general.. The description is quite short and the path was long enough and "fun." In short, the key to have fun, like in real life, it's to live the moment without too much thinking and enter the path with an attitude that can help themselves to be frightened and consecuently have fun.I thought about this project for Halloween, not only for the aspect of the place itself, but also because it's something that with a little time, dedication and above all, imagination can produce a very nice attraction/event, without too many expenses with the help of everyone.I will tell you more about this long term project, but for now I just want to inform you that not only Mirela came that week, but also two Dutch girls, one ex-EVS volunteer for the same association and who had lived in the same apartment for up to 4 months earlier.
It 'was very nice meeting them, they have cooked a couple of dinners which were completely tasty and I find both very funny, also they seem to know a lot of rock music, which never hurts. :)
The weekend was pretty full, Saturday we were invited to Magnvs's birthday (write it like this because it looks so Latin now : P ), who organized a dinner at his house. We brought a cake and a wine (the wine was a “Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi” XD). The guests were organized in two tables: The Swedish guests ate Italian and not swedish people eated Swedish. On the italian table Magnvs opened with a carpaccio with rocket 8the herb) and pine nuts flavored with truffle oil, while on the swedish table the appetizer table was made up of bread with Fresh fish cream, with onion and dill. I found this appetizer bodied but somehow even dellicate and I appreciated the various combinations. The main plate consisted of a sort of Entrecote accompanied by a sauce which I did not understand the exact composition, a creamy baked potato and carrots and some tomatoes with rocket, on the italian table they had a “Carbonara”. To close as dessert we enjoyed a wild chocolate mousse accompanied by wild berries(raspberry, strawberries, blackberries exc...). Everything was very good and thanks to alcohol epic moments came out..It was a beautifull evening and I enjoyed it very much and also spoken a lot, the dinner went on from 3 pm until eleven and segments, in that moment I realized why they call it dinner XD.we took a bus to go home with an appointment for the next day: "Flataklocken " the exact geographic center of Sweden, renamed then when we arrived as "Narnia." The place was very magical, despite the not so wonderful weather. The center of Sweden is represented by a small pyramid, about 30 cm tall. There was also a tower, about ten meters high and which, being built on the mountain, gave a breathtaking sensation. We shot various photos and then we had Fika (some short snacks with usually tea, coffe and sweet stuff)and after eating we returned to Sundsvall (the place was 60 km away). Well, that was a wonderful week, but now Stockholm is waiting for you, see you soon : )
